A Namibian experience filled to the brim with fun activities and epic wildlife sightings. Your trip begins with arrival at Windhoek International airport in the morning, where you will meet your private driver and guide, who will be with you throughout your adventure. Then, drive to Okonjima Reserve for two nights, known for its big cat conservation and the onsite AfriCat Foundation.
You’ll then drive further north to Etosha National Park, the country’s largest national park. Here you’ll enjoy 2 nights in Eastern Etosha and then 1 night in Southern Etosha. Your specialist local guide will take you on a private exploration of the Park in your 4×4 vehicle exploring the pans searching for lions, elephants, springbok, and endangered rhinos.
You’ll drive southwest towards the moonscapes of Damaraland, passing through a Himba community project en route. Then, spend two nights exploring the meandering dry riverbeds, searching for the rare and endangered desert-adapted elephants known to frequent the area. Keep an eye out for other endemic desert species like giraffes, zebra, and gazelle. Finally, you’ll stop by Twyfelfontein to see the ancient San rock art and petrified trees, a World Heritage Site.
Next, you’ll get to visit a shipwreck on the Skeleton Coast en route, enjoy a stop in the quaint town of Swakopmund – where a sand boarding experience on the dunes and dinner overlooking the Atlantic Ocean is part of the to-do list. Alternatively, you can go kayaking for a peaceful activity on the water as you float past a seal colony.
Finally, your trip ends on a high note as you drive onwards to your lodge outside Namib-Naukluft National Park in the middle of the Namib desert.
For your final full day in Namibia, you’ll venture into the Sossusvlei Dunes at dawn to climb the tallest sand dune on the continent. There is an optional scenic flight and a hot air balloon safari over the spectacular red dunes, followed by a champagne breakfast.
